Prayer to End Abortion

(By God's grace, I developed this prayer for the Love Will End Abortion radio show I hosted from 2017-2020. This prayer led off every broadcast and I share it with you here for your edification and the cause of legal protection for every preborn child.)

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus, You are the Light in the darkness.
Help us to recognize and to live according to what is authentically true, good, and beautiful.
Jesus, You know how to end the atrocity of abortion in our midst. Help us to participate with Your grace to make abortion illegal in law and unthinkable in culture, for the good of all, as soon as possible.

Holy Spirit, help us to more faithfully live according to Your good promptings and assist us in our earthly sufferings.
Help us to more fully receive Jesus and to more intimately abide in Him.

Father, help us to rightly see all of our brothers and sisters in humanity and to act in love accordingly.

Holy Trinity, one God, we praise You and we seek to give You glory.
Help us to advance by showing us anything we’re holding back from You, so that we can then bring it to Your light and Your love and begin again stronger than ever with You - more capable of being an instrument of Your blessing for others.

Jesus, thank You for the gift of Your Catholic Church, that You instituted so generously for us and at such a precious cost.
Help us to accept, to embrace, and to come alive in the fullness of Your revelation authentically handed on to us by the Holy Spirit in the Magisterial teachings and Sacramental life of Your Catholic Church.

Father,
we repent of our denial,
we repent of our desensitization,
we repent of our attachment to comfort,
we repent of our pride of human regard,
we repent of our cowardice,
and we repent of all the many ways that we have failed to this point in defending the right to life for the poorest of the poor and the very least among us – our pre-born brothers and sisters – when we know they are being murdered in great numbers around the world: in our nations, in our states, and in our local communities.
We also repent of our indifference toward our born brothers and sisters, those who are being marginalized and exploited by the lie of abortion, especially pregnant moms in unsupported pregnancies, and all those who are being deeply wounded by abortion in great numbers every day.
Help us to love authentically by actively praying and working for the end of abortion.
We pray for healing into the wounds of abortion,
we pray for truth into the lies of abortion,
and we pray for a great strengthening in the will of the Church and in the will of all humanity to end abortion as soon as possible.

We consecrate ourselves and all humanity to the Immaculate Heart of Mary our mother, under the title of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Empress of All the Americas, Patroness of the Pre-Born, and Star of the New Evangelization.
St. Joseph, pillar of families, terror of demons, pray for us.
St. John Paul the Great, pray for us.
